Container Vault Co. – Shipping & Service Policy

At Container Vault Co., we understand that international shipping is a significant undertaking. Due to the complex and custom nature of our services, traditional product “returns” are not feasible. This policy outlines our guidelines for cancellations, modifications, and the procedures for handling damaged goods.

1. Cancellations & Refunds

Your ability to cancel a shipment and receive a refund depends on its progress in the shipping process.

  • Cancellation Before Shipment: You may cancel your order for a full refund if the request is made before your container has been loaded onto the vessel. Once the container is gated in at the port, certain fees (such as processing, handling, or storage) may be incurred and will be deducted from your refund.

  • Cancellation After Shipment: Cancellations are generally not accepted after the vessel has departed from the origin port. The container is in transit and all associated costs have been committed. In exceptional circumstances, such as a container still being held at the origin port, a partial refund may be considered, minus all incurred fees (shipping, port, administrative, etc.). You will be responsible for any costs related to returning the container to its origin.

2. Modifications to Your Shipment

Changes to your shipment details are subject to logistical feasibility and applicable fees.

  • Modifications Before Shipment: Requests to modify shipment details (e.g., destination port, cargo description) made before the container is loaded onto the vessel may be accommodated subject to a modification fee and any additional costs incurred.

  • Modifications After Shipment: Modifications are not possible after the vessel has departed. Due to the nature of international shipping and customs regulations, details cannot be altered once the journey has begun.

3. Damaged Goods & Cargo Claims

Container Vault Co. handles all cargo with the utmost care. However, we strongly recommend that all customers purchase independent cargo insurance for their shipments.

  • Damage During Transport: In the unfortunate event that your cargo is damaged during transit, our team will provide full administrative support to assist you in filing a claim with your cargo insurance provider. This includes providing necessary documentation such as the Bill of Lading and photos.

  • Damage Upon Arrival: It is critical to inspect your container upon delivery.

    • Visible Damage: If you notice external damage to the container, you must note this on the delivery receipt before signing.

    • Concealed Damage: Upon unpacking, if you discover damage to the contents, you must immediately notify the destination port authorities (if applicable) and file a formal damage report within 7 calendar days of delivery. This report is essential for initiating any insurance claim.

4. Important Notes

This policy serves as a general guide. The specific terms and conditions governing your shipment are detailed in your Service Contract or Bill of Lading. These documents take precedence over this general policy. All processes are subject to international shipping regulations and the terms of your cargo insurance policy.
